This 2-story residence included an extensive renovation of an
existing historical residence. The street façade was kept intact,
with the majority of the renovation occurring inside with the aim of
opening up and integrating the interior spaces.
The wine
cellar was added later. As a tight site backed up to a hill, the
wine cell was dug into the side of the hill across the courtyard
from the main residence. The poured-in-place concrete cellar
includes storage for an extensive bottle collection and a
contemporary tasting room for entertaining.
